The Intro to Adventure is an unforgettable experience that will take you outside your comfort zone to develop the skills and experience to go on to enjoy the Alaskan Wilderness. If you’re looking for more than the typical summer camp, this course is for you.
You’ll learn practical skills like making a fire, building a shelter and reading a map. But you’ll also learn how to take care of yourself and your team in a challenging environment. Beyond the challenges, you will interact with Alaska’s authentic and raw environment that will truly test your limits and help you grow.

This course is for students entering 8th through 10th grade in the upcoming Fall.

What to expect:
This course takes place at our campus overlooking the Matanuska Glacier and in the nearby backcountry of the Talkeetna Mountains. We start with training at our Base Camp that includes hands-on practice with knives, fire and cord, as well as “class room” time around the campfire.
Students go on to use their skills to face challenges while hiking the backcountry, climbing a mountain and exploring a glacier.
