All of our courses are intended to inspire the joy of adventure while learning the basic skills necessary to go on an adventure anywhere in the world. Our students experience the rich personal development of determination, teamwork, wilderness appreciation, resilience, independence; all of which develop character and a sense of self.
Our goal is to equip a generation of teens to be self confident, independent contributors to whatever teams, families, and communities they are a part of for the rest of their life.

Alaska Backcountry Challenge
The Alaska Backcountry Challenge empowers teens to take on greater responsibility and decision-making in the wilderness, as they navigate, camp, and problem-solve in remote Alaskan terrain, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, self-reliance, and critical thinking.
This course is for students entering 8th through 10th grade in the upcoming Fall.
Students must have completed a MOI course or demonstrate relevant experience for approval.

Intro to Adventure
This course helps students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in outdoor adventures. They’ll develop resilience, improve communication, and learn to navigate challenges while building teamwork and leadership abilities.
This course is for students entering 8th through 10th grade in the upcoming Fall.
No Experience Required.

Survival Skills Workshop
In an introductory survival course, participants develop foundational skills in shelter building, fire making, and navigation, while fostering resilience, problem-solving, and a deeper connection to nature in a supportive wilderness setting.
This course is for students entering 10th grade through 12th grade in the fall.
Students must have basic fitness.

GRIT Challenge: Gunsight Mountain
In the Grit Challenge on Gunsight Mountain, participants push their physical and mental limits while navigating rugged terrain, building survival skills, and mastering wilderness challenges, all while developing resilience, problem-solving abilities, and a deep connection to the wild landscape.
This course is for students entering 10th grade through 12th grade in the fall.
Students must have completed a MOI course or demonstrate relevant experience for approval.

GRIT Challenge: Matanuska Glacier
This intensive course for teens introduces them to pro-level Alaskan skills, teaching everything from using knots, anchors, ropes, straps, and cord for securing loads to climbing vertical ice walls, offering much more than a typical summer camp experience.
This course is for students entering 10th grade through 12th grade in the fall.
Students must have completed a MOI course or demonstrate relevant experience for approval.
